The IPS Organisational Capability team was fortunate to work with clients from across Australia in 2024, leading cultural change and driving impactful initiatives.

​The team's efforts have contributed to the development of peak performance cultures, particularly on some of the largest infrastructure projects in Western Australia, such as the South West Gateway Alliance and the Armadale Line Upgrade Alliance.

​Collaborations with the Public Transport Authority also resulted in the launch of the First Level Leadership Program, which featured a self-assessment tool aligned with the WA Public Sector’s Building Leadership Impact framework.

On the East Coast, the team delivered LSi 360 feedback and executive coaching to a cohort of 36 executive leaders for Main Roads Projects Victoria. Additionally, the Women Leaders in Tennis program with Tennis Australia continued to be highly successful.

​The IPS 'First Nations Advisory' team has helped our clients achieve outstanding outcomes through a range of impactful services such as delivering cultural capability workshops, building capacity to create culturally safe work places, supporting organisations in the development and implementation of Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs). We have facilitated collaboration across multiple renowned corporates, government departments, and organisations throughout Australia, empowering First Nations leaders and communities through our service delivery.

​One of our key project deliveries was the Aspiring Program for Services Australia, through which we are proud to have supported over 120 Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander leaders from diverse nations across Australia.

​Our authentic and respectful First Nations community engagements have enabled organisations to achieve exceptional results, driving meaningful change. This year, we also supported the development of Cultural Safety Charters, further strengthening our commitment to fostering safe and inclusive environments.

IPS is excited to continue partnering with organisations in 2025 to drive impactful change, elevate First Nations leadership, and build a future grounded in respect, understanding, and inclusivity.

2024 has been a highly productive year for IPS 'Research, Policy & Evaluation', marked by the successful delivery of 17 projects and the management of up to 17 running concurrently at peak times.

​Our strong project management approach has been pivotal, complemented by the addition of key team members, including First Nations and Senior Consultants, a Research Administrator, and a Project Support Officer.

​These valuable contributions, alongside the efforts of our entire team, have been instrumental in our success. We’re proud of our achievements this year in this space, and look forward to an equally impactful 2025.

​IPS 'Project Services' team has played a key role in four major infrastructure projects in Western Australia, focusing on Aboriginal engagement and participation. The team's work includes incorporating cultural education, delivering people and culture services, sustainable employment programs, procurement support, Alliance coaching and evaluation across the projects.​

This year, we continued to contribute to these projects by creating opportunities for the engagement and development of Aboriginal businesses, fostering Aboriginal employment outcomes, including wraparound mentoring support for both direct hire and subcontractor roles, embedding cultural education, awareness, and caring for Country through land access and site management procedures.

The team's efforts incorporate exceptional community engagement outcomes, delivering ongoing opportunities.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue our partnership with valued clients, driving positive change and creating lasting opportunities for Aboriginal communities through collaboration, innovation, and shared success.

The IPS 'Business Advisory' team's reach and impact are both broad and deep, grounded in our core values. This year, we expanded our partnership with the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC), providing Business Advisory support to small businesses in Regional WA. Since July 2024, in addition to South West and Peel, IPS is proud to extend its coverage to the Midwest-Gascoyne, Pilbara, and Wheatbelt regions. This support is available at no cost to small businesses through​ SBDC Regional services.

Additionally, the broader IPS 'Business Advisory' team is honoured to have worked with First Nations businesses and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia this year. With projects ranging from an Organisational Review uniting multiple language groups in Central Australia to our Digital Wardiny workshops with older Aboriginal people in WA, which increased digital skills and online safety awareness. It's hard to measure the joy of teaching Elders to send selfies or hearing them speak in their language on Country.

2024 has been a rewarding year for Workforce Solutions, with programs that have made a real difference in people’s lives. The Yaka Dandjoo program helped participants overcome financial challenges and build careers in construction, earning the NAWIC ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ Award.

​The OnTrack program empowered individuals to pursue lasting careers, for which we were recognised by the Nudge NGO 'Above and Beyond' Award. The OnTrack and the Yaka Dandjoo expiated $129,027 in fines since inception through the Work and Development Permit Scheme WDPS Scheme.

Through the Construction Training Fund (CTF) mentoring initiative, 275 students gained valuable guidance, leading to 24 apprenticeships and 34 job placements.

The Jobs Showcase webinars (in collaboration with Department of Employment and Workplace Relations - DEWR) raised awareness about labour shortages, reaching over 56,700 registrations with overwhelmingly positive feedback.

This year, we also commenced a unique initiative, working collaboratively with partners to support prison release participants to gain qualifications and employment in rail, through the 'Track to Success' program - working in collaboration with DEWR, Department of Justice, Workskil Australia, Iron Training & Consulting and Cat5 Rail.

With a deep commitment to creating opportunities, and strong connections with valued stakeholders, IPS 'Workforce Solutions' is set to continue inspiring change, transforming lives, and tackling workforce challenges with renewed energy and purpose.

We are proud to share that the Armadale Line Upgrade Alliance (ALUA) OnTrack Team led by IPS Management Consultants (IPS) has won the 'Above and Beyond Award' at the Nudge NGO Annual Sundowner and Training Awards 2024!​

This Award honours teams that go the extra mile to support mentees, trainees, and apprentices, empowering young people to thrive in their careers and personal lives. We are deeply grateful for this recognition and proud to be part of such meaningful work!

This achievement marks the culmination of a remarkable journey that began with 105 trainees in the OnTrack Program, 87 trainees have graduated, with 57 employed on the ALUA project, 25 employed external of the project, 44% of all graduates identify as First Nations people, 30% are Female. Additionally, $103k in court-imposed fines were expiated through the Work Development Payment Scheme (WDPS).

This Award is a testament to the collective dedication, passion, and teamwork that has driven the success of the OnTrack Program. We extend our deepest thanks to all our partners and stakeholders who have contributed to this achievement. About the OnTrack Program:
The ALUA OnTrack program provides entry level workers with lasting skills to increase their employability and to increase skilled workers in the Perth Metro Region for future projects.

The program was open to First Nations people, female job seekers, older job seekers (45+), young people aged 16 to 24, people from diverse cultural backgrounds, and former prisoners.

Through the OnTrack program to date, 57 graduates have been employed on the project and 25 employed external of the project. 44% of all graduates identify as Aboriginal, and 30% are female.

The Nudge Above and Beyond Award honours teams that go the extra mile to support mentees, trainees, and apprentices, empowering young people to thrive in their careers and personal lives.

The Nudge Annual Sundowner and Training Awards will be held on November 13th in Perth, WA.

​The Yaka Dandjoo ready-for-work program has made a significant impact by equipping unemployed and entry-level individuals with the skills needed for long-term careers in the construction industry.

A Transformative Journey
The Yaka Dandjoo program recently celebrated its final cohort of graduates, marking a milestone in our commitment to enhancing employment opportunities. This initiative has provided a tailored, supportive environment where participants can develop not only technical skills but also the confidence necessary for success in their careers.

​With a total of 191 graduates across 13 cohorts, nearly two-thirds of participants have secured employment in the Bunbury Outer Ring Road (BORR) project or entered the broader construction industry.

This achievement is a testament to the program's effectiveness and the collaborative efforts of our dedicated team and partners, in bridging the gap between education and employment.

Tailored Support for Lasting Change
The success of Yaka Dandjoo can be attributed to a strong collaborative effort involving esteemed group training organisations such as The Apprenticeship and Traineeship Company and Skill Hire.

​These partners played an essential role in delivering structured training and invaluable resources, while the BORR project’s dedicated safety team and project trainers ensured that apprentices not only achieved national qualifications but also gained hands-on experience vital for their roles on the South West's largest infrastructure project. The mentorship provided by site supervisors further enriched the learning experience, allowing trainees to apply their skills in real-world scenarios.

We are excited to announce that members of the IPS team within the South West Gateway Alliance have been awarded the 2024 NAWIC WA Awards in the 'Diversity and Inclusion' category. This recognition underscores our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion.
