A career in writing has led Karen to opportunities across Australia, the UK and New Zealand and she joins IPS as a tender writer and co-ordinator.
Karen has strong task management skills and naturally seeks opportunities to make day-to-day engagements and long-term projects run more smoothly. While she employs a hands-on approach to leadership, Karen also encourages trust and enjoys teamwork the most when the sum of the parts produces something greater than the individual components could alone. She has spent most of her career taking on informal training roles and manual writing, enabling staff to improve the scope of their skills on many different systems and technologies. Sideline careers spanning diverse professions and industries has given Karen a rounded perspective when approaching a project. She can use a wider lens and see a situation from all viewpoints to ensure all stakeholders’ needs are heard. She believes in opening minds with education and exposure to new ideas; empowering humans with knowledge and compassion; and simply supporting people to lead their best life – whatever their choice. |
