Inclusion at Work Week Marks 40 Years as IPS Pushes for Stronger Leadership and Safer Workplaces21/11/2025
This week was DCA’s annual Inclusion at Work Week (IAWW), marking 40 years of the Diversity Council Australia and putting the spotlight firmly on how workplaces can become safer, fairer and more respectful.
The week-long campaign encouraged organisations across the country to share their progress on diversity and inclusion, with this year’s focus on how far workplaces have come and what needs to happen next. Participation amongst non-member has surged three-fold year-on-year. With inclusion linked to better staff wellbeing, stronger innovation and improved business performance, the message from DCA this year is clear: inclusion is no longer just “nice to have”, it’s essential. For IPS Management Consultants, the week is a timely reminder that lasting cultural change hinges on leadership. IPS Executive Lead for Leadership and Peak Performance, Katie Clarke said workplace culture ultimately reflects what its leaders choose to prioritise, model and reward. “You cannot tell an organisation to be inclusive while leaders behave in ways that contradict those expectations,” Katie said. IPS delivers leadership and workforce programs across industries and government, anchored in its four-part Leadership Framework: Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading Inclusion & Diversity, and Leading Organisations & Culture. The “Leading Inclusion & Diversity” module focuses on cultural capability, psychological safety and amplifying under-represented voices, whilst the “Leading Organisations and Culture” stream centres on shifting systems, strengthening values and embedding integrity across teams. DCA is urging organisations to use the week to reflect openly on their D&I progress, share achievements and outline next steps. Inclusion at Work Week reinforces IPS’ work in inclusion and culture driven work performance. “Our leadership programs, cultural capability training and co-designed workforce initiatives give teams the practical tools to turn inclusion from policy into daily action,” said Katie. IPS is encouraging organisations to take stock and consider where they can strengthen leadership, culture and capability to build workplaces where more people feel safe, supported and able to succeed.
